These families experience strain-based work-family conflict, where the demands of mining work create emotional and psychological stress that interferes with family life. The psychological adaptation of wives and the maintenance of family cohesion are crucial for these families' resilience. This report examines how family communication patterns, as conceptualized by Koerner and Fitzpatrick, contribute to resilience in families experiencing long-distance marriages, specifically focusing on miners' families. It analyzes the relationship between strain-based work-family conflict and family functioning, exploring how effective communication can mitigate the negative impacts of separation and foster resilience . Through understanding these dynamics, this report aims to provide insights into how miners' families navigate the challenges of long-distance relationships and maintain family cohesion despite physical separation.
